What we do
The Great Eccleston Village Centre is a charitable organisation, established in early 2001 and manned by mainly by Volunteers It was formally opened on 29th June 2001 by HRH The Princess Royal. After many successful years the centre is now refocusing its activities whilst consolidating those currently being run.
The Centre is situated in Wyre close to the centres of Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool, Fleetwood, and Garstang. It also serves a predominantly rural community; with a catchment area that includes the villages of Great Eccleston, Little Eccleston with Larbreck, Elswick and a large and dispersed farming community. It is therefore very convenient as a hub for meetings by local authorities, the health service and businesses in this area wanting a centralised meeting point.
Our objectives include the promotion and encouragement of social, educational and leisure activities, information technology, community support and similar services. This is achieved by running courses, room hire and local meetings. The Centre also provides a casual drop-in facility. The Centre can also offer business services such as photocopying, laminating and binding.
